DESCRIPTION:

Downtown South is a 3 hour walk through some of Calgary's most famous sites. On this tour we will discuss 2 of the most powerful people to ever live in Calgary, as well as the events and organizations which have made Calgary a global city.

Downtown North and Downtown South are Part 1A and 1B of the "Origin Story". Be sure to check out Part 2, Historic Stephen Avenue daily at 2pm, and Wednesday evening at 8pm.

DON'T FORGET:

We will cover 5kms on this walk, so wear comfortable shoes! Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring sunscreen or an umbrella if necessary, water, and a snack.

We will have a break in the middle, which you can go to the washroom, grab some food and a drink, and relax.

​

Each tour is comprised of different people, as such we cannot guarantee the length of the tour. Some groups ask more questions, some groups walk at slower paces, and some groups take longer at break to return. Therefore, some tours go longer than 3 hours, and some are shorter.

We do not begin and end in the same spot. We begin at the Calgary Tower and end at the Saddledome. It's about a 15 minute walk back to the Tower or you can take the CTrain.

Reservations are not necessary, but they are advised. Walk-ups are welcome, but please know the guide only shows up if there are 2 people reserved within 12 hours of the tour. Our guides' time is valuable so please understand they cannot come on demand. Reservations also allow us to put on more guides if the demand requires it so we can keep tour group sizes smaller.
